Geochronometry et palaeoenvironments

This research axis aims at studying paleolithic, neolithic and archaeological sites to unveil the key processes of human society evolution and resilience. By strong collaborations with scientists from Human and Social Sciences (mainly archaeologists, historians and paleontologists), innovative techniques are developed and used to date some site occupations at key periods from Miocene to present, to reveal the past environments of such hominids and human societies as well as their responses to the anthropic and environmental pressures. African (Chad, Tanzania...), Asian (Taiwan, India), Middle East (Turkey), American (Mexico, Guatemala) and European (Spain, Croatia, France) sites are studied.
