Dans ce cadre, les\u00a0<strong>glaciers sont d\u2019excellents indicateurs du climat<\/strong>\u00a0car leur \u00e9volution d\u00e9pend directement des\u00a0<strong>conditions atmosph\u00e9riques au travers de la temp\u00e9rature et des pr\u00e9cipitations<\/strong>. Comme la plupart des glaciers mondiaux, les\u00a0<strong>glaciers sub-antarctiques subissent actuellement un retrait marqu\u00e9<\/strong>. Dans les\u00a0<strong>\u00eeles Kerguelen<\/strong>\u00a0(49 \u030aS, 69 \u030aE), la calotte Cook a subi un retrait tr\u00e8s important et extr\u00eamement rapide, perdant 20% de sa surface en 40 ans, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des valeurs de\u00a0<strong>bilan de masse parmi les plus n\u00e9gatives observ\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale<\/strong>. Ces valeurs records actuelles semblent exceptionnelles, mais le sont-elles r\u00e9ellement au regard des\u00a0<strong>\u00e9volutions glaciaires pass\u00e9es<\/strong>\u00a0? Le recul observ\u00e9 actuellement correspond-il \u00e0 de la\u00a0<strong>variabilit\u00e9 naturelle, ou est-il le marqueur de l\u2019\u00e9mergence du changement climatique d\u2019origine anthropique<\/strong>\u00a0aux Kerguelen? In fine, que peuvent nous apprendre ces observations sur l\u2019<strong>\u00e9volution glaciaire future<\/strong>\u00a0de ces r\u00e9gions et l\u2019i<strong>mpact potentiel sur la fertilisation de l\u2019Oc\u00e9an Austral<\/strong>\u00a0? Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces questions, il est n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019\u00e9tudier dans un premier temps l\u2019<strong>\u00e9volution pass\u00e9e des glaciers austraux<\/strong>, pour laquelle l\u2019influence de l\u2019homme est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e n\u00e9gligeable. Les \u00eeles Kerguelen, de par leur situation g\u00e9ographique et leur histoire, constituent un<strong>\u00a0cas exemplaire<\/strong>\u00a0pour comprendre les\u00a0<strong>m\u00e9canismes climatiques pass\u00e9s dans l\u2019Oc\u00e9an Indien<\/strong>. En effet, en dehors du sud de la Patagonie, Kerguelen est le seul archipel sub-antarctique pr\u00e9sentant des m<strong>oraines terrestres anciennes correctement conserv\u00e9es<\/strong>\u00a0permettant de<strong>\u00a0documenter l\u2019\u00e9volution pass\u00e9e des glaciers<\/strong>\u00a0et les changements climatiques r\u00e9gionaux associ\u00e9s\u00a0<strong>depuis plus de 21 000 ans.<\/strong><\/p><p>L\u2019objectif g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de KALEHO est de <strong>retracer l\u2019\u00e9volution des glaciers de l\u2019archipel des Kerguelen<\/strong> au cours de l\u2019Holoc\u00e8ne, afin de comprendre les m\u00e9canismes climatiques \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre dans cette r\u00e9gion australe de l\u2019Oc\u00e9an Indien au cours des derniers 11 000 ans. Pour cela, nous affinerons tout d\u2019abord la <strong>chronologie des pal\u00e9ostades glaciaires<\/strong> sur l\u2019archipel gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la datation de nouveaux \u00e9chantillons pal\u00e9o-glacio-g\u00e9omorphologiques r\u00e9colt\u00e9s tout autour de la calotte Cook et sur la P\u00e9ninsule Rallier du Baty, situ\u00e9e au sud-ouest de l\u2019archipel.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element
