Un aspect moins connu et pourtant important de cette crise r\u00e9side dans le r\u00f4le des vastes \u00e9tendues de s\u00e9diments marins qui recouvrent les deux tiers de la surface de la Terre. Un \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 de ces s\u00e9diments est le carbonate de calcium (CaCO<sub>3<\/sub>), une famille de min\u00e9raux qui constitue les coquilles et les squelettes des organismes marins. Les \u00e9missions de CO<sub>2<\/sub> entra\u00eenent une acidification des oc\u00e9ans, d\u00e9clenchant la dissolution du CaCO<sub>3<\/sub> qui, \u00e0 son tour, neutralise le CO<sub>2<\/sub>, agissant comme un puits de CO<sub>2<\/sub>crucial sur des \u00e9chelles de temps mill\u00e9naires. Cependant, les m\u00e9canismes et le rythme de cette dissolution restent inconnus en raison des d\u00e9fis pos\u00e9s par les hautes pressions de l&#8217;oc\u00e9an profond et les communaut\u00e9s bact\u00e9riennes insaisissables qui interviennent dans le processus de dissolution. Le projet Deep-C vise \u00e0 comprendre la dissolution du CaCO<sub>3<\/sub> en eaux profondes, ouvrant ainsi la voie \u00e0 une compr\u00e9hension plus approfondie et \u00e0 une att\u00e9nuation potentielle des impacts du changement climatique. En se concentrant sur les domaines abyssal et hadal, cette recherche innovante vise \u00e0 d\u00e9voiler la nature et le taux de dissolution du CaCO<sub>3<\/sub> \u00e0 l&#8217;aide de r\u00e9acteurs \u00e0 haute pression. Ces r\u00e9acteurs, qui simulent la pression et la temp\u00e9rature des environnements en eaux profondes, constituent une alternative solide aux \u00e9tudes sur le terrain. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9gration de capteurs de pointe et \u00e0 l&#8217;utilisation de techniques avanc\u00e9es d&#8217;imagerie du CaCO<sub>3<\/sub>, nous g\u00e9n\u00e9rerons des donn\u00e9es pr\u00e9cises et continues sur les processus biog\u00e9ochimiques en cours. En h\u00e9bergeant des cultures bact\u00e9riennes dans les r\u00e9acteurs, \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de grains de CaCO<sub>3<\/sub> naturels, ce projet permettra d&#8217;approfondir les m\u00e9canismes de dissolution. Les r\u00e9sultats obtenus permettront d&#8217;affiner un mod\u00e8le biog\u00e9ochimique global, ce qui favorisera une meilleure compr\u00e9hension du r\u00f4le de l&#8217;oc\u00e9an dans la s\u00e9questration du carbone et fera avancer les efforts mondiaux en vue d&#8217;une att\u00e9nuation efficace du changement climatique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-229a1969\" data-id=\"229a1969\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7abf14e7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7abf14e7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">2024-2029 :\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal;
