cosmique<\/span><\/h2><p>Notre plan\u00e8te est en permanence impact\u00e9e par un<strong> flux de particules<\/strong> tr\u00e8s \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques en provenance de l\u2019espace appel\u00e9 le rayonnement cosmique.<\/p><p>D\u00e9couverts au d\u00e9but du 20<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle on distingue deux types de rayonnements :<\/p><p>. un <strong>rayonnement primaire<\/strong> principalement constitu\u00e9 de protons (85%), de particules alpha (noyaux d\u2019H\u00e9lium, 12%). La partie restante (3%) est form\u00e9e de noyaux lourds et \u00e9lectrons. L\u2019origine la plus commun\u00e9ment admise pour le rayonnement cosmique est l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration par des ondes de choc, telles que celles g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par l\u2019explosion d\u2019une supernova, de plasmas interstellaires. Si les particules les plus \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques du rayonnement cosmique proviennent de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur du Syst\u00e8me Solaire, des particules \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques sont \u00e9galement produites par le Soleil. Les composantes solaires et galactiques diff\u00e8rent par leurs compositions, leurs distributions en \u00e9nergie et leurs intensit\u00e9s en fonction du temps.<\/p><p>. un<strong> rayonnement secondaire<\/strong> r\u00e9sultant des impacts des particules du rayonnement primaire sur les constituants de l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re qui entra\u00eene la formation de <strong>gerbes cosmiques<\/strong> (neutrons et muons). Lorsque les particules du rayonnement cosmique primaire p\u00e9n\u00e8trent dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re terrestre, une <strong>cascade de r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires<\/strong> va se produire avec les atomes constituant l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re. Leur \u00e9nergie est ainsi dissip\u00e9e au fil de ces r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires. Le flux et l\u2019\u00e9nergie des particules primaires et des particules secondaires (essentiellement des neutrons) produites dans les cascades nucl\u00e9aires d\u00e9croissent rapidement selon une loi exponentielle fonction de l\u2019\u00e9paisseur d\u2019atmosph\u00e8re travers\u00e9e.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-72f89e06\" data-id=\"72f89e06\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e583fc1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e583fc1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><span><h2><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">Les nucl\u00e9ides cosmog\u00e9niques<\/span><\/h2><\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7083fd47 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7083fd47\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>L<span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">a tr\u00e8s forte \u00e9nergie des rayons cosmiques leur permet de d\u00e9clencher des r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires<\/span> lorsqu&#8217;ils impactent les noyaux des \u00e9l\u00e9ments constituant l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re et la sub-surface terrestre. \u2028<\/p><p>L\u2019essentiel des r\u00e9actions se produit dans la haute atmosph\u00e8re. Au niveau de la mer, il ne reste seulement que 0,00003% de protons primaires. De m\u00eame, pratiquement toutes les particules du rayonnement secondaire dissipent leur \u00e9nergie dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re. Seulement environ 0,1% des particules secondaires atteignent le sol avec suffisamment d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour induire des r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires dans les min\u00e9raux composant les roches de la cro\u00fbte terrestre expos\u00e9es \u00e0 la surface.\u2028<\/p><p>Les noyaux atomiques qui sont produits par les r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires entre des atomes cibles constituant l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re terrestre (production atmosph\u00e9rique) ou les min\u00e9raux des roches constituant la cro\u00fbte terrestre (production in situ, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quelques m\u00e8tres sous la surface) et les particules du rayonnement cosmique (primaire ou secondaire) sont commun\u00e9ment appel\u00e9s nucl\u00e9ides cosmog\u00e9niques.\u2028<\/p><p>Ces r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires sont majoritairement des r\u00e9actions de spallation, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire des r\u00e9actions au cours desquelles la particule impactante (majoritairement un neutron) a suffisamment d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour arracher des particules constitutives (neutrons et protons) au noyau<strong> atomique cible<\/strong> sans \u00eatre captur\u00e9e, et donc laisser comme r\u00e9sidu un noyau d\u2019une esp\u00e8ce chimique diff\u00e9rente puisque \u00e0 la fois le num\u00e9ro atomique (nombre de protons) et le nombre de masse (nombre de protons + nombre de neutrons) sont inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 celui du noyau cible originel.\u2028<br \/>Dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re le taux de production des nucl\u00e9ides cosmog\u00e9niques d\u00e9cro\u00eet lorsque l\u2019altitude diminue, d\u00fb au flux des particules qui diminue avec l\u2019\u00e9paisseur d\u2019atmosph\u00e8re travers\u00e9e. A titre de comparaison le nombre total d\u2019atomes dans un gramme de roche est de l\u2019ordre de plusieurs milliers de milliards de milliards (10<sup>22<\/sup>). Ces tr\u00e8s faibles abondances dans les \u00e9chantillons \u00e9tudi\u00e9s n\u00e9cessitent l&#8217;emploi de techniques de pr\u00e9paration et de mesure sp\u00e9cifiques.<br \/><br \/><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Applications en g\u00e9ochronologie<\/span><\/h2><p>L&#8217;accumulation au cours du temps des cosmonucl\u00e9ides produits in situ dans les roches de surface et de subsurface d\u00e9pend de la dur\u00e9e d&#8217;exposition, de la vitesse de de d\u00e9nudation de la surface en r\u00e9ponse aux processus d&#8217;\u00e9rosion et de la d\u00e9croissance radioactive du nucl\u00e9ide consid\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/p><p>Ainsi, une surface expos\u00e9e va d&#8217;abord voir sa concentration augmenter en proportion du taux de production local jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 atteindre un \u00e9tat d&#8217;\u00e9quilibre o\u00f9 les gains et les pertes se compensent, avec une concentration inversement proportionnelle \u00e0 la vitesse de d\u00e9nudation de la surface. Les concentrations mesur\u00e9es dans des objets aussi vari\u00e9s que des moraines et polis glaciaires, des terrasses et c\u00f4nes alluviaux, ou bien des s\u00e9diments peuvent \u00eatre interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es en terme d&#8217;\u00e2ge de ces objets ou bien de vitesse d&#8217;\u00e9rosion (ou les deux).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
