Le climat de cette p\u00e9riode peut servir de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au climat pr\u00e9vu dans un avenir proche pour certaines parties du Sahara et du Sahel.<\/p><p>Dans le cadre d&#8217;une approche multi-proxy, le 17O-excess de phytolithes fossiles sera utilis\u00e9 pour estimer l\u2019humidit\u00e9 relative pass\u00e9e et pr\u00e9ciser comment se sont enclench\u00e9es les boucles de r\u00e9troaction entre v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et climat en Afrique occidentale, centrale et orientale, entre 3 et 1,5 ka, p\u00e9riode de l&#8217;\u00e2ge du fer et des innovations agricoles.<\/p><p>Les donn\u00e9es d\u2019humidit\u00e9 relative produites dans le cadre du projet PAST-17 seront mises \u00e0 disposition pour l\u2019am\u00e9lioration des mod\u00e8les du syst\u00e8me Terre qui pr\u00e9disent mal les variations d\u2019humidit\u00e9 relative dans la zone intertropicale.<\/p><p>Le projet s&#8217;appuie sur un consortium de sp\u00e9cialistes du 17O-excess de l&#8217;eau et des min\u00e9raux, des proxies du climat, de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et de l&#8217;eau des lacs, des mod\u00e8les de climat et de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation du
