Cependant, la plus longue carotte de glace disponible \u00e0 ce jour, EPICA Dome C (EDC), ne couvre que les 800 000 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p><p>C&#8217;est pourquoi le projet europ\u00e9en H2020 &#8220;Beyond EPICA &#8211; Oldest ICe&#8221; (2019-2026), avec une forte participation des glaciologues fran\u00e7ais, vise \u00e0 forer une carotte de glace de 1,5 million d&#8217;ann\u00e9es \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de la station franco-italienne de D\u00f4me C \u2013 Concordia, en Antarctique.
