Copr\u00e9sid\u00e9 par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerege.fr\/fr\/cerege\/olivier-sulpis\/\">Olivier Sulpis<\/a>, charg\u00e9 de recherche au CEREGE, le rapport alerte sur le fait qu\u2019aucune technique n\u2019est actuellement pr\u00eate pour un d\u00e9ploiement \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Toutes reposent sur des processus naturels, mais \u00e0 des \u00e9chelles tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes de celles sur lesquelles ils ont historiquement fonctionn\u00e9. Leur efficacit\u00e9, leur durabilit\u00e9 et leurs effets sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes restent incertains.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99049d2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"99049d2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Science et r\u00e9gulation : \u00e9tablir des standards pour le CO\u2082 oc\u00e9anique<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ad231f6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ad231f6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Le r\u00f4le de la science est de fournir un cadre objectif. \u00ab Notre travail ne consiste pas \u00e0 d\u00e9cider si le mCDR doit \u00eatre d\u00e9ploy\u00e9, mais \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer quelles preuves et quelles garanties sont n\u00e9cessaires pour que toute d\u00e9cision soit responsable \u00bb<em>,<\/em> explique Olivier Sulpis dans l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/lejournal.cnrs.fr\/articles\/rechauffement-peut-reduire-le-co2-oceanique\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview publi\u00e9 dans le CNRS Le Journal<\/a>. Parmi les recommandations prioritaires figurent la mise en place de standards MRV harmonis\u00e9s, le financement d\u2019\u00e9tudes sur l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme et les impacts environnementaux, et la p\u00e9rennisation des r\u00e9seaux d\u2019observation permettant de suivre les modifications du carbone href=\"https:\/\/www.cerege.fr\/fr\/sciences\/climat\/projets-climat\/deep-c-erc\/\">Le projet ERC DEEP-C<\/a>, pilot\u00e9 par Olivier Sulpis, se concentre sur la dissolution du carbonate de calcium (CaCO\u2083) dans les eaux profondes, un processus naturel qui agit comme puits de CO\u2082 sur des \u00e9chelles de temps mill\u00e9naires. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des r\u00e9acteurs \u00e0 haute pression, des capteurs avanc\u00e9s et des mod\u00e8les biog\u00e9ochimiques globaux, DEEP-C permet de mieux comprendre les m\u00e9canismes naturels et les interactions microbiennes qui contr\u00f4lent la s\u00e9questration du carbone. Ces connaissances sont directement utiles pour d\u00e9finir les protocoles MRV et \u00e9valuer la faisabilit\u00e9 des techniques mCDR.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En somme, la capture du CO\u2082 oc\u00e9anique est un champ prometteur mais incertain.
