Je m'intéresse à l'étude du climat du passé - sur le quaternaire principalement, par l'analyse de microplancton calcaire, et particulièrement les foraminifères planctoniques. Je développe des outils d'analyses automatisés d'images de plancton (fossile et vivant) pour accélérer les recherches, et également obtenir des couvertures spatiales et temporelles plus fines. Mes travaux de recherche portent plutôt sur les tropiques, qui ont été historiquement moins bien étudiés, alors même qu'ils sont à l'origine de processus climatiques fondamentaux (mousson, El Niño). Mes approches combinent des études du plancton moderne et de leur biodiversité, par l'analyse de foraminifères extraits de filets à plancton, avec des études paléoclimatiques en étudiant les foraminifères dans les sédiments contenus dans des carottes sédimentaires.

Actuellement, j'encadre Michael Adebayo en doctorat, les post-doctorats des Dr. Sonia Chaabane & Dr. Thang Lé (collab. MIO). Contactez moi si vous souhaitez venir travailler dans le groupe/ou analyser des échantillons avec les automates de tri.

J'ai coordonné le développement de deux automates (plate forme MicroTree).

- un automate d'imagerie pour microparticules ( en particulier foraminifères) - Sashimi avec acquisition Z-stack

- un automate de tri de foraminifères/microparticules - MiSo pour le piquage automatisé des foraminifères et autres microparticules, développé avec ATG Technologies.
