My PhD project investigates why the genus Homo is today the sole human representative, while multiple species once coexisted. Using possibilistic modeling (EDEN formalism), I integrate paleontological, paleoecological, and climatic data to test whether alternative evolutionary trajectories were possible. This interdisciplinary work aims to formalize and compare alternative scenarios of human evolution between 4 and 1 Ma.
