Applications

Measuring the concentrations of CO₂ emitted by the soil and its isotopic composition (¹³C/¹²C) makes it possible to:

  • Accurate quantification of soil respiration, to monitor the rates of mineralisation of organic matter (OM) stabilised in nanoCLICs and to understand the processes and dynamics of carbon in soils.
  • Real-time isotopic tracing to detect the fluxes of labelled CO₂ released by microbes and to quantify the dynamic carbon exchanges between nanoCLICs, rhizodeposition and microorganisms.

The equipment is financed by and used exclusively for the project's research. ERC (ADG) NANOCLICS, awarded to Isabelle Basile-Doelsch (2026–2030)
