I am interested in the correlation between the sedimentary deposits of the deltaic plain and the prodelta of the Rhône during the recent Holocene. My research focuses on the Camargue, characterised by vast stretches of sansouïre plains, lagoons and marshes (Image no. 1). The landscapes and land use of the Camargue are a key issue in the representation of micro-topography, particularly in the context of the study of fairly fine sedimentary deposits. Several tools are being used in my thesis. For example, electrical resistivity tomography (Image no. 2) provides an index of the first few metres of soil and can be used as a decision-making aid for more costly and time-consuming operations, such as coring and trenching (Image no. 3).
