Grand Prix des Sciences de la Mer 2023

For 2023, the winner of the Albert 1er de Monaco 2023 Grand Prix for Marine Sciences is Professor Edward AnthonyCEREGE.

On Wednesday 6 December, H.S.H. Prince Albert II visited the Monaco Embassy in Paris to hand over the medals for the Grand Prix des Sciences et de la Mer Albert 1er for the years 2022 and 2023.

For 2022, the jury awarded the prize to the Conservatoire du littoral et des rivages lacustres, represented by its director, Agnès Vince.

For 2023, the winner is Professor Edward Anthony, Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Aix-Marseille, CEREGE Earth and Planets team.

In the presence of Rector Alain Miossec, chairman of the jury and Emeritus Professor of Geography at the University of Nantes, and Jean-Robert Pitte, member of the Institute and President of the Société de Géographie, H.S.H. the Prince paid tribute to Professor Anthony's rich career in a wide range of fields, including oceanography, geomorphology, sedimentology, ecology and the development of coastal and marine environments.
The Grand Prix des Sciences de la Mer Albert 1er de Monaco 2023 was awarded by Prince Albert 1st at the Monaco Embassy in Paris on 6 December 2023.
