At CEREGE, a new organisation for a new mandate

The first general meeting of the new management team took place on Thursday 18 January at CEREGE on the Technopôle Environnement Arbois-Mediterranée in front of a packed and attentive audience.

After announcing the major challenges to be met during this mandate, such as a strategic reflection on the orientation of our research, analytical developments in relation to our research questions, the strengthening of the link between training and research and their development in the countries of the South, Lucilla Benedetti, Director of CEREGE, presented the new organisation of the laboratory in detail.

Clarifying, optimising and co-constructing are now the key words, in particular for the implementation of a collective approach to the unit's eco-responsible transition, involving new staff practices, changes in usage, tools and resources to be deployed with a common goal: to reduce CEREGE's environmental impact. A manifesto of intent is currently being voted on by staff until 1 February.

New features include cross-functional projects, changes in units and committees, the creation of a core drilling unit (equipment and preparation for field missions), the appointment of a Quality of Life and Working Conditions coordinator, and new internal communication tools.

The AGM closed with one-hour educational workshops on the following topics:
. Workshop and offices with ideas box
- Workshop to submit your sample to the Scientific Collections Conservation Unit
- Humhub workshop (internal social network) by the communication referents
- Workshops to get involved in the lab's transition by the Eco-responsible Commitment Committee
- Pars en mission workshop - Notamine by CEREGE managers.

The new management committee which took its place on 1 January 2024, is made up of 6 members with complementary missions:
. Lucilla BenedettiPhD CNRS, Director
. Sandrine Magnetto, IR CNRS, Administrative Director
. Mélanie Auffan, DR CNRS, Deputy Director
. Laurence Vidal, Pr AMU, Deputy Director.
. Daniel BorschneckIR CNRS, Technical Director CEREGE Arbois
