Research Internship in Glaciology, Geomorphology, Climate.

I am studying the impact of geomorphology on the climate sensitivity of glaciers in the sub-Antarctic. My work focuses on glaciers with a particularly negative SMB in Patagonia, New Zealand and Kerguelen. I distinguish the influence of geomorphological variables and climate fluctuations on the SMB. The work is further developed through palaeoenvironmental observations documenting the evolution of glaciers over the last 10,000 to 20,000 years. Hugonnet et al (2021)

Land
Measurements on glaciers in the GLACIOCLIM network in the Alps (snow and ice coring, accumulation/ablation balance, GPS deployment, topographic surveys).

Modelling, GIS

Laboratory
Participation in dating/geochemical analyses of glacial moraines and ice cores.

Scientific mediation (secondary school)

ANR MARGO

My internship is part of the ANR MARGO project.

MARGO's expertise spans the fields of glaciology, freshwater geochemistry, marine environments and microbiology, and previous expeditions to these regions, which have benefited from adequate land and marine infrastructure, will provide unique insights into the hydrological, geochemical and microbial processes that occur along the glacier-ocean continuum.
